Iowa State vs TCU Game In HD TV Preview

The Iowa State Cyclones will take on the TCU Horned Frogs for a Big 12 showdown. At the end of the 2019 season, the Cyclones were sixth in the Big 12, with a 5-4 conference record and a 7-6 overall record. The Horned Frogs were tied for eighth in the conference and had a 3-6 record within the Big 12 and a 5-6 record overall. The last time these teams faced off was in October of last year, where the Cyclones had a strong 49-24 victory over the Horned Frogs.

Louisiana has a nice football program, but that’s no excuse for Iowa State losing to them at home as a 14-point favorite. Starting quarterback Brock Purdy really struggled, going 16 of 35 for 145 yards with no TDs and a pick. Running back Breece Hall had a strong game with 103 yards and a TD on 20 attempts. Purdy threw for 3,982 yards with 27 TDs and nine picks last season. So it’s possible, that he just had a bad game. He is 11-6 as a starting quarterback and set 18 school records last season.

The Cyclones need to get the offense back on track after its dismal performance against Louisiana. Yes, Charlie Kolar back will help, but it won’t be that easy taking on a stout TCU defense. Receivers missed catches last week, but QB Brock Purdy was not exactly sharp either. Breece Hall may end up playing a big role as well, as getting the running game open could open up some options down the field for the Cyclones.
