The Troy University Trojans football team makes the trip to BYU for a non-conference game on Saturday, Sept. 26. The game is scheduled to start at 9:15 p.m. CT. Troy enters the game 1-0 overall after a 47-14 win against Middle Tennessee State on Sept.
Dave Pasch will lead the play-by-play on ABC’s national broadcast, along with former Alabama quarterback Greg McElroy and ESPN recruiting analyst Tom Luginbill. The trio also called USC’s Friday night victory over the Washington State Cougars last year at the Coliseum.

While the Pack is still set to start this Saturday against Wake Forest at home a primetime game scheduled for 8 p.m. ET Virginia Tech wasn’t so fortunate. The Hokies further delayed the start of their season after a COVID-19 outbreak of their own, which forced them to postpone the first game against Virginia for a later date.

Troy vs BYU Game In HD TV Preview
BYU will have gone 19 days between games when it hosts Troy at LaVell Edwards Stadium this weekend. Positive COVID-19 tests and contact tracing forced the Cougars to postpone its game against No. 22 Army last weekend. If that game doesn’t get made up, BYU will only have seven remaining games on what will be one of the softest schedules in the country.
Troy opened its football season with a dominant 47-14 victory on the road against Middle Tennessee last weekend. Quarterback Gunnar Watson stayed true to his name, slinging the pigskin for 248 yards, two touchdowns, and one interception while helping the Trojans outgain MTSU 496 to 241 in total yardage on the day. Troy’s defense also came up big in the win, recording a safety and forcing three interceptions in a dominant performance.
Watson’s performance sparked plenty of optimism after the game. The redshirt sophomore quarterback had attempted just 34 combined passes before earning the starting job in camp this summer. Yet, he helped Troy score 40 unanswered points and convert 13 of its 19 third downs in the win.
